That's when things start to change. During one of his rehearsals, Monty starts playing a tune and suddenly goes into a trance, with intense visual flashes - a mansion, a temple, a beautiful girl... Monty collapses unconscious. On further probe, he finds out; the mansion belonged to a certain Ravi Verma, who died in a tragic accident. Another flash back reveals that Monty was Ravi Verma in his previous life, married to a beautiful girl called Kamini. Monty now has the grave realization of having been reborn in his current persona. His beautiful love interest (Tina) is none other than Kamini's foster daughter. From here starts Monty's new journey. A journey of enthralling vengeance, which he unleashes on Kamini. In close connivance with her wicked accomplice Sir Juda, Kamini had murdered Ravi to take over his estate, leaving his family helpless after his death. To repay the debt he owed them for all their suffering, Monty now brings his mother and sister out from the dark recesses of their life; he also reunites with Tina and culminates his incomplete love from a previous life. Desc : In college Raj Malhotra (Shahid Kapur) was numero uno. In academics, sports, dramatics and touted as the next cover of Time magazine. It's almost as though some negative kismat is following him around because whenever something good is about to happen, it seems doomed to fail.
Desperate to fight this cussed kismat that's hell bent on playing such mean tricks on him, Raj meets a quirky oracle, Hasina Bano Jaan (Juhi Chawla). She tells him that soon his stars will change his stars and make everything work in his favour; but for all this to happen, Raj has first to find his lucky charm and never let go of it. But she tells him no more, leaving Raj mystified, trying to figure out what this charm could be.
Suddenly his life seems to be on the right track. He's managed to impress top builder Sanjeev Gill (Om Puri), into giving him a prestigious project?
Priya is a tough-talking, tough-decision taking girl with a heart of gold. She is an idealist who is intent on making the world a better, more humane place and is quite willing to fight a lone battle for it. She is a doer who believes in action. Life for her is clearly colored in blacks and whites. Shades of grey have no role for her. She will give her all to her causes, her people and her love and expect nothing less in return.
Raj even succeeds in persuading pretty Priya (Vidya Balan) that he's the Messiah who can save her beloved Community Center from destruction? And also opened her eyes to her philandering fiancé (Amit Verma).
Raj even manages to thwart the evil designs of old-college-foe-turned-deadly-professional- enemy Dave Kataria (Manoj Bohra)?

Desc : Shankar (Shahrukh Khan) is a mute man, raised by the powerful Raja-Saab (Amrish Puri) who treats him like a slave. The elderly Raja-Saab wants to marry Gauri (Madhuri Dixit), a vivacious young girl. Gauri however wants to see a picture of her future husband first and Raja-Saab sends her one of Shankar. Gauri falls instantly in love with him and the wedding proceeds. However, afterwards, she discovers that it's not Shankar, who she has married. She refuses to give Raja-Saab her body, so he imprisons and tortures her. When her brother Ashok (Mohnish Behl) comes to save her, Raja-Saab kills him. But before his death, Ashok makes Shankar promise him to save his sister; Shankar and Gauri flee. After a chase through the woods, Raja-Saab's men manage to capture the couple. Shankar gets almost mortally wounded, while Gauri is sold to a brothel. Shankar, however, gets saved by a mysterious healer in the mountains, who operates on his throat while he is still unconscious. The mysterious healer digs out coal from his throat which is how Shankar regains his voice again and manages to save Gauri. Then, he realizes Raja-Saab is in fact the rich man who came to his village one day and killed his parents. When the young Shankar tried to spread word that Raja Saab is in truth a murderer, Raja-Saab sneaks up from behind and shoves coal in his mouth, forcing him to swallow hence he becomes mute. Though when he was young he never saw Raja-Saab's face, he remembers the day clearly. And when it seems like deja-vu when he gets revenge for what they did to his love (Gauri) he realizes Raja-Saab and his two hencemen are the culprits. He takes his revenge on three of them, but not before letting everyone know what they did to him when he was a child. After cunningly killing them all, he returns to his love.

This paradox is resulting in great suffering for a forward looking Muslim. Above mentioned is the theme of the film "KHUDA KE LIYE" which in English means "IN THE NAME OF GOD". The interesting thing about the film is how it connects the happenings in the three continents. Unlike the usual Indian and Pakistani films based on romantic saga, dances and songs, this film is based on some very serious issues, raising a lot of controversial questions boggling the Muslim minds these days.
